Rakuten is a Japanese brand that started as e-commerce in Germany back in 2007.
In 2018 the HQ decided to partner with soccer player Lukas Podolski to increase brand awareness within the German audience and during 2020 we decided to use him to enhance the sales campaign of the year.
The challenge: the business model of Rakuten had just changed and we needed to inform our users about the new mechanism of the biggest sale of the year during Black Friday week - “Super Sale”.
The main communicational focus for this marketing campaign was the cashback option with every purchase.
