Lukas Podolski x Rakuten

Rakuten is a Japanese brand that started as e-commerce in Germany back in 2007. In 2018 the HQ decided to partner with soccer player Lukas Podolski to increase brand awareness within the German audience.

The challenge: this was the first collaboration project between Rakuten and a brand ambassador. We set a campaign with him to promote the busiest time of year in sales while having an emotional message that was shared with Lukas.

My role as creative lead was to liaise with Lukas management, external and internal teams. 

I set up the initial briefing and concept for each campaign during our partnership and made sure the assets were working for us as a company and for him as a prominent person.
